It's been ages since I've actually updated my own journal but I've decided that I need to do it. It absolutely needs to be done. April 17th was the last time I updated this thing with anything that has substance. Mostly it's just one-line entries or random lists because I'm addicted to making lists. I have a summer reading list that I'm supposed to be working on but so far I've deviated like crazy off of the list in lieu of new books coming out or new things sparking my interest. The last book I read was Magical Thinking by Augusten Burroughs and now I'm working my way through Running With Scissors. I don't know why I like his writing so much or why I feel like I can kind of understand what he's talking about. It's just refreshingly honest if not a little brutal. I guess that I also like that it's true and not just a load of fiction about vampires and werewolves and stupid fucking whores (I was reading Anita Blake before this). I've been writing a lot, but not anything that is worth anything so it's never going to get posted or shown to anyone. I've also been listening to a lot of music and spending as much time as possible on the couch in the living room, which has become my homebase for the most part. With no roomates living here for the summer I have virtually free reign over the whole apartment and I'm abusing it. It's going to be hard to get back into the swing of spending a lot of time in my room when they come back because I really like to be alone during the night when I want to read or write and not be bothered by one of the many people living with me. Heather and Haley aren't coming back though, so Sarah and I will be the verterans of the apartment and Emily and Erin will be new. Interest that we replaced two H names with two E names.

And speaking of Emilys... my cousin got into the U (the U of I) and she's going to be going here next year. I'm more than just a little bit excited about it. Chances are, as a junior in college while she's a freshman, I'm going to have to corrupt her as much as humanly possible. Not that I haven't already been doing that for the previous 18 years of her life. We aren't big party animals here on John St. but I do like to do a little social drinking and I know for a fact that my roomates do too. I'm not sure how well we are all going to get along next year, but hopefully better than last year. I mean, for the most part last year we got along but there were definitely some rough spots that I could more than do without this year. I'm not going to make much mention of it all in a public forum but lets just say that living with 3 girls isn't always the best on account of cat fights, back stabbing and bad mouthing. Whatever.

I got a new job today. I did not, however, quit my old one. So now I'm working at the Candle Store and the Book Store. I know books like the back of my hand and it seems like pretty soon I'm going to know candles that well too. "Looking for a refreshing scent? Try our Cotton fresh from the dryer scented candle. It smells like clean clothes and is the perfect scent for your afternoon..." Anyone who knows me even just a little bit might be amused to know that I'm actually rather good with customer service. Considering that I'm one of the most disagreeable, disgrunted and socially inept people on the planet, it's amusing to see me jump into action to find Joe Schmoe Customer his perfect book, magazine, journal, candle...whatever. Also, you might notice that I've carefully not mentioned the name of either place I work in the journal (at least I don't think I mentioned it) on account of the fact that it's against company policy to blog about the work place. There is an honest to god section in the employee manual on 'blogging'. And I would know. I read the fucking thing cover to cover.

Tonight is the Pirates of the Caribbean 2 opening. We are going to the midnight showing. I'm probably going to leave in 40 minutes, which will put me at the theatre at quarter til 11. Jessie is deadset that we are going to get a good fucking seat in the god damn theatre and she can't go early so that leaves it up to me. I really don't care where we sit as long as its not the floor and maybe as long as there is somewhere for me to stick my feet. The perfect seats at the beverly are the ones in the second row of the stadium seating. There are maybe nine seats where there is a bar in front of them so that you can put your feet up without getting yelled at or having to move them so some asshole can sit right in front of you even though there are like 90 goddamn open seats. That's probably my biggest pet peeve and reminds me of the time that was saw the new excorcist in the movie theatre. I shit you not, Mike and Kim and I were in this theatre and it was EMPTY. So we sat in the back row of the lower seating. Literally every other seat (save the three we were in) in the whole theatre was empty. And in walk three people who sit down DIRECTLY in front of us. No joke. I mean, one row ahead of us, right in the seats in front of us. I swear to god I almsot laughed myself to death with Mike, as loud as he could, said something along the lines of "IT'S NOT LIKE EVERY OTHER SEAT IN THE THEATRE IS OPEN." Which after a moment of silence afterwards prompted the people to get up and move. Assholes.

Pirates however wont be the same without Kalmbach. Sucks. I hope he likes it.

is the most prestigious boarding school in all of Europe. Those select few students aged thirteen to eighteen who are admitted undergo a rigorous application process and frankly, have to be deemed important and wealthy enough to keep the crème de la crème of high society in and the riff raff out. This, of course, is an unspoken truth around Holtcombe - but it doesn't take a genius to figure this out upon setting foot on the three hundred year old campus tucked away in the moors of the English countryside. Millionaires are commonplace (billionaires, however, are idolized and revered); the children of Hollywood royalty and Page Six articles roam the halls, decked out in outfits straight off the pages of Vogue. Holtcombe graduates go on to become doctors, lawyers, engineers, educators, scientists, entrepreneurs, politicians, authors, journalists, musicians, actors, artists, architects, philanthropists and leaders in many other pursuits, attending almost exclusively Ivy Leagues. Being a Holtcombe student is a one-way ticket to the upper echelons of society, but where there is lots of money and no parental supervision, scandal brews. Though they may appear to be the perfect, yes please and no thank you type of kids, nothing is ever what it seems. Do you think you have what it takes?

THE FINE PRINT: Holtcombe is a brand new PB threading community on GJ. Therefore, the PB you want is probably available, so if you're interested, see here for details.

This is my music that I have on my computer. So far it's just an up to date list of all the albums that I have. However, it's always changing and eventually I'll be adding individual songs. Comment to request anything and I'll do my best to upload what you want.

It's been a while since I've updated, though I suppose that nothing too terribly exciting has happened. Yesterday was Easter so I came home for that. I got to talk to Nick on the phone for about forty minutes so that was nice. I miss his stupid ass face sometimes. I went home this morning for class and came back to Bloomington again so I could get my car fixed. Chances are I'm going to have to have some coldstone while I'm here, though I'm told there is one in Champaign now too (of course it's always packed). At at Junior's for lunch and I'm pretty sure that my arteries are clogging from all the grease and fat from Juniors but my god it's delicious. Don't work again until Wednesday.

On an actual interesting note: I registered for classes today and if I don't change my mind what's listed below is what I'll be taking next semester.

Introduction to Archaeology (Anth 220)
Intro to Archaeology Lab

Viking Sagas in Translation (CWL 252)

Women Writers (ENGL 280)

Medieval Lit and Culture (CWL 253)

The Short Story (CWL 267)

Um... rock on. I really wanna take Women in Lit Imagination but that class is closed for the moment. We'll see how long it stays that way.

I need to figure out what the fuck I'm going to get a degree in.

Went tanning today for the first time in like, two years. It was delicious. I missed tanning. It's like the best twenty minute nap of my life. And this place that I tan at now is beneath my apartment, so it's like 20 feet away. And it has a cd player in every room, so I brought fall out boy and listened to that. NICE.
